While commemorating India’s Independence Day, the leaders under the initiative Green Kenya, Clean Kenya planted over 90 trees at the park which is currently under rehabilitation from being a garbage wasteland for many years in past.

Speaking with Gilitics Media, Hon. Dewani congratulated Dr. Agarwal for coming up with the initiative terming it a brilliant idea and called for more people to contribute to the rehabilitation efforts at Kibarani to uplift Mombasa County’s scenery.

The area chief also lauded the efforts by Hon, Agarwal and thanked the Indian High Commission for taking their time to visit his area and promoting the rehabilitation of the Kibarani Miracle Park. He assured the leaders that “all the trees will be well taken care of, and within one year, Kibarani will be green.”

“To live in a healthy environment, we must have as many trees as possible so we have taken up this initiative to make sure we plant as many trees as possible through this small initiative, Green Kenya, Clean Kenya,” said Dr. Agarwal.

Many of the leaders from the Hindu Council of Kenya who were present at the event echoed their sentiments about the importance of planting trees at Kibarani, stating that the area had been an eyesore for many years and that they are happy to contribute in whatever capacity to assist in its rehabilitation.

Dr, Agarwal contested the Nyali Parliamentary seat in 2017 but lost in the primaries for Jubilee Party. He has been involved in community development projects through his foundation, Sanjeev Agarwal Foundation, and his eye hospital, Mombasa Eye Hospital & Laser Center.
